Good finish, and well done to Chloe Hosking, but a bit of a dull race.

It seems that the course does not enourage a selection – not only are the rollers pretty benign, the trees and whatnot shelter from the wind.

I suppose, though, we had a situation where few of the big teams were interested in making the race hard.  The Poms had Cooke, the Dutch had Vos, the Germans had Teutenberg, and the Italians had Bronzini, all of whom had legitimate prospects of winning the sprint.  It might have been a different situation if, say, Bronzini and Vos rode for weak teams.

The forecast for tomorrow is for slightly stronger winds, but only slightly; the wind isn’t going to do the work of getting rid of the pure sprinters.

ISTM Cav is never going to get a better chance to win a world championship.

This was a very dull race indeed (for a one day race) I gave up towards the end…
I thought surely there would have been at least a few girls that would want to be out in a break… I guess not…

Thanks to  Clara Hughes (Canada) for actually having a go and trying to make the race. Other than that everyone wanted it to end in a sprint. Sadly not much else to write about it. Double rainbow for Bronzini (Italy) – nice.

Watched the race last night, there were a few attacks and breaks.

Must say, despite her looks, fair effort for Giorgia Bronzini to win the worlds back to back.
