Gerro Wins GP de Plouay

August 24, 2009

After being snubbed from Cervelo’s TdF squad, Gerro showed them who’s boss yesterday.

Coincidentally I took this photo yesterday on a well known training road in Melbourne where he won the Herald Sun Tour a few years ago. I had a good feeling about this race for him.

It’s about time! I knew he’d get a win after showing what a class act he is in the spring classics. Maybe being left off the Tour roster was a blessing in disguise.

let’s state the obvious: Gerro is a gun and was severely shafted by Cervelo in the Tour this year

Go Gerro, stick it up ‘em!

I’ve always rated Gerro as one of the best OZ rider…always giving 100% and knows how to take his chance.

CT Thanks for helping me bridge the gap on Saturday Kinglake ride.

It seems like yesterday that Gerro was racing here in the local events around Melbourne. It just goes to show what hard work can achieve. He’s not the most talented guy in the pro peloton, but he’s the most dedicated and hardest working. Also a great guy who will go far after his cycling is done. Good on ya Gerro!

Mmmm, not too long ago some people were was saying a certain Kiwi rider ( who is a good rider ) deserved to be in the T.D.F. team instead of Gerro.

Gerro deserves a team that fully appreciates his talent and hard work.
Wonder if he will be in the Radio shack ( SHACK ) team next season?

Gerro is getting better with his victory salutes. Hasn’t fully lost the childhood joy salute, did sneak in at the end. Maybe needs to refresh and re read how to salute like a pro.

It’s perfect, unlike the over the top Europeans.
Humble in victory, Magnanimous in defeat – very Aussies

    Wade,
Congrats on a great web-site and thank you! I now have a place to go when I’m in need of some tips or advice on anything to do with cycling, or life in general. Also thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement following my win last weekend in Plouay.
See you all in a few months,
    Gerro
